Monday Round Up

Movies I've Watched.

Welcome back!

Hello and welcome to the week my friends! This past week has been productive in terms of movies watched. I felt it would be a good idea to create a roundup and share them with you.

Anatomy of A Fall (Anatomie d'une chute) - Dir. Justine Triet

A family living in a remote cabin in Savoie, France suffers the death of a family member, Samuel. Without concrete evidence, the son, a visually impaired boy named Daniel, becomes the key witness, while the wife, Sandra, becomes the key suspect. A stunning discovery into the psyche of a family in search of answers, and a mystery that sits with you after watching.

Past Lives - Dir. Celine Song

A romantic story of lovers in their past lives. Or in this case, lovers when they were younger. What happens when you move on, or think you've moved on? What happens when you're again placed directly in each other's paths? In this film a particular path is played out, leaving you wondering "What if?”

The Sting (1973) - Dir. George Roy Hill

A rewatch for me of an oldie but a goodie. My father calls it the greatest heist movie of all time, and in a lot of ways I agree. This movie is about a great con, a grifter meeting up with an old professional con artist to set out toward some semblance of revenge after a corrupt banker makes a hit against their friend Luther.

FOE - Garth Davis

Set in a futuristic and dried-out earth. When a husband has been drafted into a space program and forced to leave his wife, hidden feelings between the couple culminate and erupt during the days as they count down. A third party creates a strange tension throughout this journey as we discover new information about the couple and the individuals.

Upcoming Watches

Hard to say the exact movies I will watch next, sometimes it’s based on how I feel, but this is a pretty good lineup for me.

  • Saltburn - Emerald Fennell

  • The Holdovers - Alexander Payne

  • The Iron Claw - Sean Durkin

  • All of Us Strangers - Andrew Haigh

Enjoy the week, let’s make art, watch movies, and discuss,

Much love today and every day,
